We are back from a lovely trip to Florida to visit my family. Unfortunately, Jim couldn't get the time off, so Vivien and I had our own little adventure. She did great on the plane. I wore her in a sling, and she slept most of the trip there. She got to go to church for the first time on 5/29. Everyone who prayed for her was so happy to meet her. It was neat to show my little girl who knew me when I was her size. We had a family cookout on Memorial Day, and Vivien got to go swimming for the first time. She absolutely loved it, did not even cry once.
We went and had lunch with a good friend of mine on Tuesday and then went shopping. We were stopped so many times by people who wanted to tell me how pretty she is or how she is always smiling. So many commented on her sweet disposition (I think she gets that from her daddy, hee hee).
We got to hang out all day with her cousin Gillian and Aunt Amy. We took the girls to see Grammy at work, so she could show them off. Then we went and had their picture taken together in the coordinating dresses that Grammy knit for them. My little brothers came over for the day on Thursday and got to meet their newest niece. We watched movies and went to lunch. Sadly, it was raining most of the week, so there was no more swimming for us.
Friday, we went shopping with my mom (Grammy) and got to spend a nice relaxing day together. It was nice because we haven't had many chances to get out as just the 3 of us. The times that my mom has been here have been during and after surgeries, so we have had to stay in. We had a nice casual family dinner that night so that everyone could come and snuggle with our precious girl one last time. As always, there was a lot of love and laughter. What a wonderful family we have!
We left on Saturday, and as my mom hugged and kissed us goodbye at the airport, she told me I was a good mom. That meant the world to me coming from the best mom on the planet. So now we are back home with daddy, who we missed sooooo much. Vivien is on the verge of sitting up on her own. She can sit for a little bit as long as we are right there to catch her. She is also saying more consonant sounds like "ba" and "ma". She had about a 5 minute phone conversation with her Grandpa Johnson the other night. She also learned how to jump in her Jumperoo, and it is hilarious! She is such a joy and so much fun. We could not be more proud of her.
